We use similar stacking bins like these for our toy storage. There is no order or labeling. The kids can grab toys without the help of an adult and can easily put them back. They know that is their area. It is perfect for us in this stage of life. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when deciding on toy storage options in the garage.
1. Keep it simple- they are tired when putting it back and it needs to be simple.
2. Bins that are easy to hose off- Outdoor toys get dirty and so do the bins
3. Recycle old bins & shelving- Kids don't care if it all matches. As I was cleaning out my garage, I realized that we needed a new container for chalk. I grabbed an old bin that I would have otherwise thrown out.
